Bhairava: The Lesson of Ego and Liberation
Bhairava emerges from Shiva’s third eye which is an astral form, the seat of absolute awareness. His manifestation is not random ,it is corrective. When Brahma’s ego crossed cosmic order, Bhairava severed Brahma’s fifth head. This act was not violence; it was of cosmic instruction ,the destruction of ego that obstructs truth. If creator was in great ego then what hope if from creation itself?
However, the act carried the consequence of Brahma Hatya, regarded as one of the gravest sins in the universe. As a result, the skull of Brahma clung to Bhairava’s hand, and Bhairava wandered for twelve astral years as a mendicant, bearing the weight of that karma. His journey ended in Kashi, where the skull finally fell away. There, Bhairava became Kshetrapalathe guardian of the sacred space. He is Also the Guru of Tantra beacuse he holds the knowledge of 5th head of brahma which creation was not allowed to get . But to the actual and realized bhairav sadhaka bhairav baba reveals the gyana of 5th Veda
Kashi itself is not a single-dimensional concept. Its meaning unfolds according to one’s level of realization: For the normal person , Kashi is a physical city in India. For the learned seeker, Kashi is a sacred state guarded by Bhairava , a spiritual threshold entered through sadhana and inner eligibility.
Thus, where Bhairava resides, Kali is present and vice a versa.
Ma Kali & Bhairava in their roles as Guru might not be the most palatable for the society , however a true Guru is always going to be stricter than you can imagine but ultimately for your good . Like a mother feeding the bitter medicine to her sick child. In a true Guru Ma Kali resides & shines!!
BITTERNESS OF YOUR GURU IS YOUR BIGGEST BLESSING!!
In most of the depictions, Maa Kali is shown standing upon Shiva. This imagery is often misunderstood. In Tantra, Shiva in this form is Bhairava, the absolute, unmoving witness. Without Shakti, Shiva is Shava a corpse. It is Shakti who animates, moves, creates, and dissolves.Kali is that dynamic force the power from which all manifestation arises. Her nature is movement, transformation, and creation. Bhairava provides the Adhara —the stable ground that allows Shakti to manifests.
In authentic Kaali worship, Bhairava Upasana often comes first. Bhairava stabilizes the seeker. He grounds the consciousness. Only then can one approach Kaalika, whose energy is vast, raw, and transformative. Kalabhairava is intrinsically linked to Maa Kaali he is her guardian and divine consort
This is why Bhairava is Kshetrapala of Kashi because Kashi is Kaali, and Bhairava guards the field of her manifestation.
Kaali and Bhairava are not separate deities to be chosen independently. They are one continuum . To approach one without understanding the other is to grasp only half the truth.
This understanding is not popular, nor is it widespread. But for those walking the tantric path, it is foundational.
Ma Kali is GURU SHRESHTRA & Bhairava is the Guru of tantra , while Ma is the body of tantra.
Mahkaal Bhairava composed the Kakaradi Sahasranama of Ma Kali.
Much of the fear and hesitation surrounding Maa Kali and Bhairava in modern Hindu society does not originate from our scriptures or living traditions, but from a long period of colonial misrepresentation. During the British colonial era, Indic spiritual systems, especially Tantra, were deliberately portrayed as primitive, violent, and morally corrupt. Ugra deities like Kali and Bhairava became easy targets for this distortion because their symbolism was misunderstood and deliberately sensationalized.
Colonial scholars and missionaries interpreted Kali only through the lens of blood, darkness, and destruction, while completely ignoring her philosophical role as the dissolver of ego, time, and illusion. Bhairava was reduced to a frightening figure associated with death and punishment, rather than being understood as the guardian of Dharma, the remover of falsehood, and the Kshetrapala who protects sacred space and sincere seekers. These narratives were not neutral academic errors; they were tools used to undermine indigenous spiritual confidence and replace lived wisdom with fear and shame.
Over generations, this external gaze slowly became internalized. Questions such as “Is Kali dangerous to worship?” or “Will Bhairava bring suffering into my life?” are not born from Shastra or Guru parampara, but from inherited colonial conditioning. The fear is not of the deity, but of misunderstood symbolism passed down without context. What was once reverence transformed into avoidance, and what was once sacred became labeled as “dark” or “unsafe.”
Reclaiming the true understanding of Kali and Bhairava is therefore not merely a religious act, but an act of spiritual decolonization. It is a return to Indic metaphysics, where destruction is never random, darkness is not evil, and fierce forms exist to protect truth, not threaten it. When understood correctly, Kaali and Bhairava do not create fear; they remove the layers of ignorance that produce fear. To approach them with knowledge and Bhakti is to break a generational cycle of misunderstanding and to reconnect with the original wisdom that our traditions have always preserved.
Bhairava, the Kshetrapala -The energies of Devi and Lord Bhairav flow as one— eternally intertwined and inseparable. There is a common saying in the world of Tantra:
Yatra Yatra Sthita Devi, Tatra Tatra Sthito Bhairavah |
Wherever the Devi resides, there too resides Bhairav.
This reflects the inseparable union of Shiva and Shakti, Consciousness and Energy.
This union is not just metaphysical but can also be observed in our day-to-day life.
All Devi temples that have been consecrated in line with scriptural injunctions have a small shrine dedicated to Lord Bhairav either in the main temple premises or very close to it. He acts as aKshetrapala — the protector of the sacred space.
According to the Rudrayamala Tantra and other Shaiva texts,
* ‘Bha’ stands for Bharana (sustenance)
* ‘Ra’ for Ravana (withdrawal or destruction), and
* ‘Va’ for Vamana (dispersion or creation)
Thus, Bhairava is He who creates, sustains, and dissolves—a form embodying the entire cycle of existence.
The Form of Bhairava-Bhairava appears as a fierce, awe-inspiring form of Lord Shiva. His skin glows dark like storm clouds, his eyes blaze with the fire of divine wrath and wisdom. His matted hair whirls like a halo of flame, crowned with a garland of skulls, symbolising the destruction of ego and time. In His four to eight hands, He wields a trident, drum, skull-cup, and sword — each a weapon of liberation, not violence. His third eye glares open, burning away ignorance, while serpents coil around his limbs, radiating untamed kundalini energy.

His third eye glares open, burning away ignorance, while serpents coil around his limbs, radiating untamed kundalini energy.
This fierce imagery might remind one of the fierce Ma Kali, His feminine aspect.
If Lord Bhairav is the still, unyielding awareness that burns through illusion, then Ma Kali is the dynamic, all-consuming force that destroys the false self and births the soul into truth.
In Chapter 8 of the Devi Mahatmya, Ma Kali emerges from Ma Durga’s forehead to battle Raktabija, a demon whose spilt blood created infinite clones. She manifested in her most fearsome form — dark as the void, hair unbound, eyes blazing, tongue lolling, and Her body adorned with skulls. She descended onto the battlefield with Her wild, uncontrollable energy and began slaughtering the demons with ferocious power.
Ma Kali devoured Raktabija’s blood before it could touch the earth— eventually slaying him and his army.
However, after this victory, Her frenzied dance of destruction continued unchecked. Her bloodlust intensified, threatening not just the demons but the cosmic balance itself.
The gods feared total annihilation, as She devastated indiscriminately, and turned to Lord Shiva for help.
To halt Her rampage, Lord Shiva lay down on the battlefield amongst corpses. Ma Kali, lost in Her ecstatic fury, stepped on his chest—and in that moment, recognition dawned. She saw Her consort, Her very ground of being, underfoot.
Her tongue protruded—not out of shame, as often interpreted literally, but as a symbol of sudden awareness and transcendental realisation.
Her dance ceased. Stillness returned. The cosmos breathed again.
According to esoteric lore, after a fierce battle against an asura, Ma Kali was in an unstoppable state of ecstatic fury and was destroying indiscriminately. Fearing total cosmic annihilation, the gods turned to Shiva for help. To halt her rampage and remind her of her maternal nature, Shiva transformed himself into a crying infant (Bhairava in his Batuka form) and lay down on the battlefield among the corpses. Upon hearing the cries of the child, Kali's maternal instinct was instantly triggered. Her fury ceased, she picked up the crying infant to comfort him, and her destructive rampage was quelled.
While Bhairava is generally known as the ultimate protector, esoteric tradition considers Ma Kali to be the Highest Guru. In this lore, when Bhairava wanders in a state of deep anguish after consuming the cosmic poison (Halahala), it is the Goddess (often taking the form of Maa Tara) who receives him in her lap, soothes his pain, and grooms him into the supreme Mahakala. At that moment, she becomes the Guru of Mahakala Bhairava.
In mystical traditions, the interplay between Bhairava and Kali is sometimes described as a cosmic swing. Kali represents the boundless, raw, unstoppable Shakti that dissolves ego and decays illusion. Bhairava (as Time/Death) represents the mastery, discipline, and protection of cosmic order. Their spiritual synergy ensures that creation is continually purified and renewed rather than consumed in chaotic destruction.

* Surya (Sun): Governed by Swarna Akarshana Bhairava or Mahakala.
* Kotwal of Kashi -Kaal Bhairav, a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, is the eternal guardian and Kotwal (police chief/protector) of Varanasi (Kashi). Locals believe that Baba Vishwanath (Shiva) rules as the King of Kashi, while Kaal Bhairav maintains the city's cosmic law, order, and spiritual purity.
Swarnakarshana Bhairava is a peaceful, golden manifestation of Lord Shiva worshipped to attract immense wealth, eliminate debts, and restore financial prosperity. Legends say he even provided wealth to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Kubera. He holds an Akshaya Patra (inexhaustible vessel) and various divine treasures.
Unlike the fierce forms of Kala Bhairava, Swarnakarshana Bhairava is depicted in a golden hue, radiating peace. He frequently holds a golden pot (Kalasha), a conch, a lotus, and the Damaru
The word “Swarna” literally translates to “gold”, but in the higher tattvic context of mantra and tantra, swarna symbolizes not mere metal, but the radiant, self-effulgent Parabrahma Tattva—the ultimate, unconditioned reality that is beyond time, space, and form.
“Akarshana” means attraction or pulling power. Thus, Swarna-Akarshana Bhairava is not one who grants gold to the worshipper in a material sense, but rather, he is the one who attracts the consciousness of the seeker toward the Parabrahma itself—and more importantly, he himself is that very Parabrahma appearing in a form accessible through mantra and dhyana.
Swarnakarshana Bhairava is not a giver of gold; He is the gold. He is Parabrahma itself appearing as Bhairava.
This form of Bhairava is always accompanied by his divine consort, Shri Bhairavi, who is not merely a companion deity but the Mula Prakriti—the primordial creative power. Just as gold and radiance are inseparable, so too are the Parabrahma and Mula Shakti inseparably united in this form.
Swarnakarshana Bhairava and Shri Bhairavi stand as the personified union of Purusha and Shakti, Sat and Chit, Being and Becoming. Perform pujas to remove financial crises, overcome malefic planetary influences (especially Rahu and Saturn), and achieve both material and spiritual abundance.
Mantra to seek his blessings is: "Om Sri Swarnakarshana Bhairavaya Namaha".
Chanting the Shri Swarnakarshan Bhairav Stotram is considered highly auspicious for clearing poverty and inviting prosperity.
His Sadhana is a powerful tool to align cosmic energies for success, it is most effective when combined with righteous karma, responsible financial management, and hard work.
In Tantric and Shaiva traditions, the Ashta Bhairavas (eight fierce manifestations of Shiva) and the Ashta Matrikas(eight divine mothers) are fundamentally paired as divine consorts. They represent the perfect union of Shiva(consciousness) and Shakti (the active, feminine energy of creation and protection).
Each Matrika embodies a specific cosmic power, and she is empowered and guarded by her respective Bhairava counterpart:
Look at your hand and watch a second pass. You can never get that exact second back. But why does the universe mathematically forbid time from running backward? In modern physics, this phenomenon is called the Arrow of Time, completely governed by the Second Law of Thermodynamics and the relentless force of entropy.
The Bhasma Aarti at the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga in Ujjain. Find out why adorning Mahakal with literal ashes is not just a religious ritual, but a flawless mathematical demonstration of maximum entropy and the final state of all physical matter. Shatter your classical illusions. Watch the full video right now to understand the undeniable mathematical physics of the supreme cosmic clock!
Why can't a shattered glass spontaneously reassemble itself on the floor? Today we are completely dismantling the exact mechanical framework of the arrow of time. We are going to rigorously prove how ancient Indian astrophysicists and advanced sages flawlessly map the second law of thermodynamics thousands of years ago explicitly using the absolute ultimate form of Lord Shiva Mahakal. But before we aggressively break down this bleeding edge thermodynamic reality, I explicitly need you to deliberately smash the like button and actively share this video right now. In my strict analytical view, the mainstream global algorithm heavily suppresses this hard structural truth, preferring to keep these ancient sciences hidden. Your immediate physical action is the absolute only way we forcefully push this cosmic knowledge to every single corner of the world. For decades, I have carefully watched modern society casually treat ancient Sanskrit scriptures as mere philosophical poetry, completely ignoring the rigorous mathematical reality encoded deeply within their structure. To truly understand the sheer structural magnitude of Mahakal, we must aggressively ground ourselves in the absolute most unbreakable rule in all of modern physics, the second law of thermodynamics. In 1927, the brilliant British astrophysicist Sir Arthur Edington coined a monumental scientific term known as the arrow of time. Edington strictly proved that while microscopic laws of physics are completely reversible, the macroscopic physical universe has a definitive one-way direction. This [clears throat] one-way direction is entirely governed by a powerful phenomenon called entropy. Entropy is the strict mathematical measure of disorder, randomness, and chaos within any physical system. The second law explicitly dictates that the universe mathematically must move from a state of structural order to absolute undeniable chaos over time. When a massive star finally burns out, when microscopic biological cells decay, or when a solid concrete building eventually crumbles into dust, that is the strict physics of entropy actively ripping physical matter apart. It is an absolute one-way street. You cannot mathematically unburn a piece of wood and you cannot stir cream out of a cup of coffee. The irreversible forward march of linear time is directly and exclusively governed by this exact physical principle. The late theoretical physicist Steven Hawking heavily emphasized that this thermodynamic arrow of time is what gives time its specific direction. Its final inescapable mathematical conclusion is widely recognized in modern cosmology as the heat death of the universe. This is a definitive future state where all stars have completely burned through their thermal energy. All physical structures have disintegrated and the universe reaches a state of maximum entropy. At that exact point, all physical activity permanently stops and the forward flow of time effectively ceases to exist. Now, we must carefully and aggressively cross reference this inescapable thermodynamic reality directly with the absolute highest echelons of sanatana dharma.
In the rigorous ancient texts, the supreme cosmic consciousness is fundamentally represented by Lord Shiva. But when the brilliant ancient architects specifically wanted to document the irreversible flow of time and ultimate cosmic decay, they explicitly detailed his ultimate supreme form, Mahakal. The strict Sanskrit ethmology of this name is completely devoid of mythological fluff. Kala strictly translates to time and maha strictly translates to great or absolute.
Mahakal is the precise physical structural personification of cosmic entropy. He is the active mathematical certainty that the massive cosmic clock is strictly winding down to zero. When early western historians initially analyzed this, they carelessly categorized Mahakal as a simplistic tribal god of death. But that is an incredibly lazy, primitive historical view that completely fails to grasp the science. The ancient Indian scientists were absolutely not talking about simple human mortality or standard biological death. They were mathematically describing the overarching decay of the entire physical cosmos. Every single subatomic decay, every dying star and every collapsing galaxy is directly governed by the exact physical principle that Mahakal structurally represents. He is the active living arrow of time. The ancient sages flawlessly understood that the entire matrix of physical reality is strictly subordinate to the one directional flow of entropy. They fundamentally realize that no matter how complex, advanced or orderly a physical system becomes, it is mathematically guaranteed to be devoured by the overarching progression of time. Mahakal stands at the very end of the cosmic timeline, waiting for the universe to exhaust its energetic capacity. To find the undeniable authentic fact anchor of this hardcore scientific realization, we must strictly analyze the most iconic physical demonstration directly associated with Mahakal. This brings us explicitly to the ancient Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga located precisely in Ujiain, India. Every single morning long before the sun rises, a highly specific intense ancient protocol is strictly executed. The renowned Bhasma Arti. During this deeply profound process, the sacred Shiva Linga of Mahakal is completely covered in fresh ashes. Casual observers and modern commentators frequently mistake this for a mere religious ritual, casually assuming it is just a symbolic emotional gesture regarding standard human cremation. But when I critically apply a hardcore physics-based lens to this exact ancient practice, a mathematically profound reality emerges that completely shatters that assumption. The Basma Arty is absolutely not a ritual. It is an absolute uncompromising thermodynamic demonstration. In strict chemistry and physics, what exactly is ash? Ash, When any physical material is completely burned, all of its internal moisture, volatile chemical compounds, and dense structural bonds are violently broken down by intense heat. The resulting physical ash cannot be burned again. It cannot decay any further. It is physically inert and energetically depleted. It has mathematically reached its absolute state of maximum entropy. By actively adorning Mahakal with literal ashes, the ancient Indian architects were intentionally constructing a flawless physical equation for humanity to witness. The dense ashes strictly represent the absolute final state of the physical universe, the ultimate heat death. Mahakal wearing these ashes mathematically represents the fundamental cosmic truth that all structured physical matter will inevitably collapse back into absolute maximum entropy. The supreme deity that actively governs the one-way arrow of time is literally wrapped in the physical scientific proof of that exact thermodynamic conclusion. This is absolutely not arbitrary religious poetry. This is a highly calculated structurally flawless scientific statement. The ancient sages explicitly designed the Bhasma Arty to constantly remind human consciousness that the physical universe is fundamentally winding down. It is an advanced elite physics lesson brilliantly encoded into a daily architectural protocol strictly preserved for thousands of years so the core scientific truth would survive the inevitable entropic rise and fall of human empires.
The dharanas from Vigyan Bhairav Tantra we can actually do at home:-
IMPORTANT NOTE -Do not do ugra sadhana or complex practices without a Guru this is not a dramatic warning it is practical you can genuinely damage your nervous system.
Many of its 112 techniques are based purely on Avadhana which just means pure attention. Just your breath and your mind and your daily life these are completely safe for a Grihasta to practice at home without any initiation.
The text says the life force moves upward and the downward force moves down and by realizing the two empty spaces at the inner and outer poles the state of Bhairav is revealed.
What you actually do is sit quietly and watch your breath without changing it when you breathe in there is a moment at the bottom of the inhale where it stops for a fraction of a second before becoming an exhale when you breathe out it travels out and stops for a fraction of a second before becoming an inhale again.
Just put your entire attention on those two pauses nothing else the moment the breath stops the mind also stops in that microsecond of stillness is where Bhairav lives.
Take a singing bowl or a bell strike it now do not focus on the loud moment of impact focus on the tail of the sound as it gets softer and softer until it completely dissolves into silence follow that sound all the way into the silence it disappears into where the sound dies your mind will also temporarily dissolve this is one of the most accessible practices in the entire text.
Go to your terrace at night look at the sky but do not look at the stars and do not look at the moon look at the black empty space between the stars your mind is trained to hold onto objects when you stare into boundless empty space with nothing to grasp it will panic for a second and then it will simply drop that dropping is the entry point.
When you get angry the natural movement is to focus on the person who angered you the story the justification the argument you are mentally rehearsing the moment intense anger or fear arrives forget the person forget the cause entirely close your eyes and feel the raw energy of the anger in your chest and stomach do not judge it do not analyze it just look directly at the energy itself without the story attached to it when you do this the emotion loses its grip completely and what remains is pure localized consciousness the anger itself becomes Shakti.
When you eat turn the tv off put the phone down take one bite and close your eyes give your entire attention to the texture and the taste move your whole consciousness into that single act by being completely present in a simple sensory experience the thinking mind is bypassed entirely this is nitya upasana happening at your own dining table.
The Vigyan Bhairav Tantra is not telling you that the cosmos is some distant thing you need to align yourself with it is telling you the cosmos is right here in the gap between your inhale and your exhale it is in the center of your fear when you stop running from it, It is in the taste of your food when you actually pay attention.
Bhairav is the silence that watches your daily life without being disturbed by any of it.
You do not need to be in a cave, you just need to stop lying to yourself, stop running from your own mind, start paying sharp attention to exactly what is in front of you right now.
O Shiva, what is your reality?
What is this wonder-filled universe?
What constitutes seed?
Who centers the universal wheel?
What is this life beyond form pervading forms?
How may we enter it fully,
above space and time,
names and descriptions?
Let my doubts be cleared!
1. Radiant One, this experience may dawn between two breaths. After breath comes in (down) and just before turning up (out) – the beneficence.
2. As breath turns from down to up, and again as breath curves up to down – through both these turns, realize.
3. Or, whenever in-breath and out-breath fuse, at this instant touch the energy-less, energy-filled center.
4.Or, when breath is all out (up) and stopped of itself, or all in (down) and stopped -in such universal pause, one’s small self vanishes. This is difficult only for the impure.
5.Attention between Eyebrows, let mind be before thought. Let form fill with breath essence to the top of the head and there shower as light.
6.When in worldly activities, keep attention between two breaths, and so practicing, in a few days be born anew.
7.With intangible breath in center of forehead, as this reaches the heart at the moment of sleep, have direction over dreams and over death itself.
8.With utmost devotion, center on the two junctions of breath and know the knower.
9.Lie down as dead. Enraged in wrath, stay so. Or stare without moving an eyelash. Or suck something and become the sucking.
10.While being caressed, Sweet Princess, enter the caress as everlasting life.
11.Stop the doors of the senses when feeling the creeping of an ant. Then.
12.When on a bed or a seat, let yourself become weightless, beyond mind.
13.Or, imagine the five coloured circles of the peacock tail to be your five senses in illimitable space. Now let their beauty melt within. Similarly, at any point in space or on the wall – untill the point dissolves. Then your wish for another comes true.
14.Place your whole attention in the nerve, delicate as the lotus thread, in the center of your spinal column. In such be transformed.
15.Closing the seven openings of the head with your hands, a space between your eyes becomes all-inclusive.
16.Blessed One, as senses are absorbed in the Heart, reach the center of the lotus.
17.Unminding mind, keep in the middle – until.
18. Look lovingly at some object. Do not go to another object. Here in the middle of the object – the blessing.
19.Without support for feet or hands, sit only on the buttocks. Suddenly the centering.
20.In a moving vehicle, by rhythmically swaying, experience. Or in a still vehicle, by letting yourself swing in slowing invisible circles.
21.Pierce some part of you nectar filled form with a pin, and gently enter the piercing and attain to the inner purity
22.Let attention be at a place where you are seeing some past happening, and even your form, having lost its present characteristics, is transformed.
23. Feel an object before you. Feel the absence of all other objects but this one. Then leaving aside the object-feeling And the absence feeling, Realize
24. When a mood against someone or for someone arises, Do not place it on the person in question, But remain centered.
25. Just as you have the impulse To do something, Stop.
26. When some desire comes, consider it. Then, suddenly, quit it.
27. Roam about until exhausted and then, dropping to the ground, in this dropping be whole.
28. Suppose you are gradually being deprived of strength or of knowledge. At the instant of deprivation, transcend.
29. Devotion frees.
30. Eyes closed, See your inner being in detail.
31. Look upon a bowl without seeing the sides or the material. In a few moments become aware.
32. See as if for the first time A beauteous person Or an ordinary object.
33. Simply by looking into the blue sky Beyond the clouds, the serenity.
34. Listen while the ultimate mystical teaching is imparted. Eyes still, without blinking, at once, become absolutely free.
35. At the edge of a deep well look steadily into its depths until – the wondrousness.
36. Look upon some object, Then slowly withdraw your sight from it, Then slowly withdraw your thought from it. Then.
37. Devi, Imagine Sanskrit letters in these Honey filled foci of awareness, First as letters, The more subtly as sounds, Then as most subtle feeling. Then, leaving them aside, be free.
38. Bathe in the center of sound, As in the continuous sound of a waterfall. Or, by putting the fingers in the ears, Hear the sound of sounds.
39. Intone a sound, As AUM… Slowly, As sound enters soundfulness, So do you.
40. In the beginning and gradual refinement of the sound of any letter, Awake.
41. While listening to stringed instruments, Hear their composite central sound; Thus omnipresence.
42. Intone a sound audibly, Then less and less audibly As feeling deepens Into this silent harmony.
43. With mouth slightly open, Keep mind in the middle of the tongue. Or, as breath comes silently in, Feel the sound ‘HH’.
44. Center on the sound ‘AUM’ Without any ‘A’ or ‘M’.
45. Silently intone a word ending in ‘AH’. Then in the ‘HH’, Effortlessly, the spontaneity.
46.Stopping ears by pressing And the rectum by contracting, Enter the sound.
47. Enter the sound of your name And, through this sound, All sounds.
48. At the start of sexual union Keep attentive on the fire in the beginning, And so continuing, Avoid the embers in the end.
49. When in such embrace your senses are shaken as leaves, Enter this shaking.
50. Even remembering union, Without the embrace, Transformation.
51. On joyously seeing a long-absent friend, Permeate this joy.
52. When eating or drinking, Become the taste of food or drink, And be filled.

69. Since, in truth, Bondage and freedom are relative, These words are only for those Terrified with the universe. This universe is a reflection of minds. As you see many suns in water from one sun, So see bondage and liberation.
70. Consider your essence as light rays From center to center up the vertebrae, And so rises “livingness” in you.
71. Or in the spaces between, Feel this as lightning.
72. Feel the cosmos as a translucent ever-living presence.

Batuka Bhairav and Hanuman, both of them walk on either side of Ma Durga. Shakti Tattva is dynamic, to succeed in Shakti Upasana, one needs a strong adhar (base). In order to hold a burning fluid like lava, one needs a strong vessel, that fluid is like Shakti and the vessel is provided by Bhairav tattva. Hence that base Or adhaar to properly digest the overflowing energy of Ma Durga is provided by Batuka Bhairava. If Batuka Bhairava Upasana is clubbed with Durga Upasana, the growth and results will be multifold. If one is blessed by both Batuka Bhairava and Hanuman, then the doors of higher Krama of Durga Upasana open very smoothly.
From Adesh of Lord Shiva , Batuka Bhairava goes for penance due to Brahma Hatya for 12 years with Brahma Kapala in Hand. After the tapasya when the Brahma Kapala falles in Kashi & Lord Shiva is pleased with his Tapasya & then Batuka sits down as Kaal Bhairava in Kashi.
Bhairava’s act signifies the removal of this subtle ego before higher realization becomes possible. Within Bhairava traditions, Batuk (Vatuka) Bhairava is considered the accessible and protective form of Bhairava. Many lineages approach Bhairava through Batuk Bhairava first because his form is believed to stabilize the practitioner and protect the path before engaging with the more intense currents of Bhairava sadhana. Several tantric traditions regard Batuk Bhairava as a guardian of the path, invoked before deeper Bhairava or Shakta practices. If a seeker still carries material desires, worship Batuk Bhairava along with Maa Durga. Batuk Bhairava protects and stabilizes the path, while Ma Durga grants the sustaining Shakti.
Maa Durga is the most magnificently adorned form of the Divine Feminine — dressed in the finest saree, jewelled, glorious, the highest expression of Bhavani in her regal form. In this combination, she serves as the mother energy that contains and balances the powerful Bhairava force. Just as a young man with an exceptionally close relationship with his mother develops extraordinary confidence and resilience, the mother energy of Durga grounds and channels Batuka's raw Shakti into productive outcomes
There is no contradiction between material ambition and Sadhana at this stage. Maa Durga governs grandeur, power, and abundance — note that kings and politicians throughout history have worshipped her for precisely this reason. The combination allows full-throttle material pursuit without compromising one's spiritual foundation.
BALAJI GURUJI has advised young people to start with Batuka Bhairava and Maa Durga if you are young, materially engaged, and still accumulating the experiences of life. Trust that the same deities will, in time, reveal their deepest forms — Kala Bhairava and Maa Kali — from within themselves. When that day arrives, welcome it. Until then, pursue your life with full commitment, knowing the mother energy of Durga and the vitality of Batuka have you
BALAJI GURUJI is a ocean of knowlledge , strength & divin power and can guide you into the right sadhana for yourself.
